Aerial Yoga, Aerial Fitness and Aerial Dance

Certified Aerial Instructor Clara LeBlanc is the head of our Aerial Program. She recommends Aerial for everyone that wants to strengthen their core, and overall body.
Decompress your spine and challenge your body in new ways when Yoga and flying come together. This amazing class is a fusion of several beautiful and beneficial physical disciplines, including: aerial arts, ballet, trapeze, dance, yoga, flexibility, core work, strength conditioning and balance training to name a few.
Over time, our bodies suffer from the constant compression effects of gravity. Realign your body and spirit using our soft, silky hammocks safely suspended from the ceiling. You will gain flexibility, muscular tone and cardiovascular health as you increase joint mobility and gently decompress the vertebrae of the spine.
In addition to receiving a total body workout, this class emphasizes having fun while learning new skills, such as safe inversion therapy, which has been deemed one of the most beneficial practices for the body. The same gravity that causes daily compression on our bodies can now be used to our benefit when we incorporate an aerial hammock.
No need to feel intimidated, you are in a comfortable and caring environment with an instructor who wants nothing more than to help you succeed and reach your fitness goals. No prior yoga or aerial experience required. For every age, shape and size.

What is Aerial Yoga?
Aerial Yoga is the practice of traditional Hatha yoga with a soft fabric hammock, suspended a few feet off the ground. The hammock is a prop like a strap or block, intended to assist alignment, deepen awareness and provide the immediate benefit of spinal decompression. With the weight of the body partially or fully supported along with the help of gravity, we can explore and create space in our bodies as intended in traditional Yoga practice. Without the compression of the joints and spine we can achieve proper posture and alignment through relaxation rather than effort, therefore finding a more balanced and unencumbered expression of each pose.
Many Aerial Yoga postures are designed to help the student better understand the purpose of traditional Yoga postures and some are meant to help students achieve advanced traditional Yoga postures which can take years to learn. Through Aerial Yoga the fascia unwinds, the mind quiets, core-strength is built, and participants leave the class feeling great.
Physical Restrictions
Please talk to the instructor before attending class if you have any medical issues that prevent you from inverting (glaucoma, heart condition, etc.) or putting pressure on your skin. If you have a spinal injury or medical condition, check with your doctor first.
